The organisation values passionate practitioners who want to contribute to outstanding childcare and be part of a supportive, community-focused team.Role Description The Pre School Room Lead is a full-time, on-site role based at our Rawmarsh nursery. This role oversees the day-to-day operation of the preschool room, ensuring a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that supports children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework. Responsibilities include planning, delivering and evaluating age-appropriate activities, leading the room team, and ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and hygiene. The Pre School Room Lead builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues, contributes to observations and assessments, and maintains accurate records. The role also involves supporting staff development, promoting best practice, and working closely with the nursery management team to meet regulatory and quality standards.Qualifications Strong early years practice skills, including planning, delivering and assessing learning in line with the EYFS.
  • Leadership and team coordination skills to guide and support room staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, families and colleagues.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and child wellbeing best practices.
  • Organisational and record-keeping skills to manage documentation, observations and reports.
  • Relevant early years qualification (e.g., Level 3 or above in Childcare/Early Years) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a preschool or nursery setting, ideally in a senior or room leader capacity.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Ability to work flexibly within nursery opening hours and follow nursery policies and procedures.
