We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Pre-School Room Leader to join a boutique nursery in Wandsworth. The setting offers a creative, nurturing, and bilingual learning environment for children from 6 months to 5 years, enriched with music, drama, outdoor exploration, and chef-prepared meals.
As Pre-School Room Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the learning environment, inspiring your team, and ensuring children receive outstanding care and education every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of Early Years Practitioners in the Pre-School room.
  • Deliver a broad, engaging curriculum that blends structured learning with creativity, bilingual practice, and nature-based experiences.
  • Ensure high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, and developmental outcomes for all children.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, maintaining clear and supportive communication.
  • Collaborate with management and colleagues to uphold the nursery’s boutique ethos and professional standards.
  • Drive continuous professional development for yourself and your team.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and EYFS requirements are consistently met.

Person Specification

  • Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 in Early Years Education (CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent). Candidates with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Room Leader, Deputy Room Leader, or strong Senior Practitioner.
  • Leadership: Confident team leader, able to inspire, mentor, and manage staff effectively.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child development.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with warmth, empathy, and professionalism.
