Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Monday to Friday
Working hours: 40 hours working week
Salary: £31,420
This role is for a Room Leader for our Pre-School Room.

QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL)

  • Minimum of Level 3 in early years or equivalent
  • Experience in working with pre-school aged children
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Sector
  • Good standard of English and Maths at GCSE A-C or equivalent
  • Pedatric first Aid Certificate (if qualification was received after 2016)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS (ESSENTIAL)

  • 2 years or more experience working in a nursery or similar environment
  • 2 years or more experience as a Pre-school room leader
  • Experience of being a key person
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted framework

OTHER USEFUL SKILLS (DESIRABLE)

  • Paediatric first aid
  • Safeguarding training
  • Food hygiene
  • Manual handling
  • SENCO experience

Responsibilities

OVERALL JOB ROLE

  • To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for pre-school aged children.
  • To manage the day to day running of the room
  • To ensure that the rooms are a safe environment for children, staff and others
  • To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development
  • To manage your team (3 members of staff)

DUTIES

  • To ensure responsibility for the effective daily running of the pre-school room
  • To have a sound knowledge of company policies, procedures and expectations
  • To act as an excellent role model to the staff team, being able to showcase high-quality practice in all areas
  • To take responsibility for excellent hygiene, health and safety and security practice within the nursery
  • To work cooperatively with the manager, deputy and other room managers
  • To support and lead your room team in planning and providing appropriate daily activities in line with guidance from the EYFS
  • To uphold the highest level of safeguarding practice and ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • To manage and supervise observation, assessment and planning in your room, ensuring all children are making progress
  • To work with outside professionals where required
  • To work closely with parents and create trusting relationships with all families
