Willow Tree Day Nursery is a purpose built warm and inviting homely setting with a fantastic outdoor environment in Blackburn, Lancashire and we are looking to recruit a Preschool room leader. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to further their career within childcare. We are looking for enthusiastic, confident, passionate practitioners to work as a member of the nursery leadership team to ensure that all children attending the setting receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs.
This exciting opportunity to join our team is for a qualified level 3 practitioner, 40 hours a week to start as soon as, once we have received 2 suitable references and a cleared DBS. Applicants must have in depth knowledge of the EYFS and some experience of supervising a small team. They must be confident to lead by example, model good practice, manage performance and communicate effectively with children, colleagues and parents.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Minimum Level 3 Qualification or equivalent
  • A paediatric first aid certificate is preferable
  • Previous experience with the under 5’s
  • Some experience of leading a team

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To promote a fun, high quality environment for the children aged from 0-5
  • Must be confident to lead a team and delegate staff
  • acting as Key Person to designated children
  • overall responsibility of the general running of their room
  • work closely with, and report to, the nursery manager in order to ensure consistent quality across the setting
  • Ensuring that at all times the Welfare and Learning development requirements are met.
  • Work in partnership with parents and carers.
  • Undertake a shared responsibility for health and safety throughout the nursery.
  • Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures relating to the nursery.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
