PSA are seeking a hands-on Precast Workshop Assistant (Leading Hand) to support the preparation, casting and handling of concrete test specimens and small precast elements. About the Role This is a low-volume, high-quality workshop environment focused on engineering, testing and product development — not production-line work. You will play an important role in day-to-day workshop activities while helping build our in-house testing capability. Key Responsibilities Build and assemble formwork for concrete specimens and small precast elements Set up reinforcement, inserts and lifting components in accordance with drawings Coordinate and assist with concrete pours using pre-mixed concrete Strip formwork and prepare specimens for testing Safely lift, move and handle concrete elements using appropriate lifting systems Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop and casting area Work closely with engineers to support test setup and product development activities Take a leading role on the floor, guiding the labourer and coordinating daily tasks Ensure safety, quality and housekeeping standards are maintained About You Experience in precast, concreting, construction or similar hands-on environments Confident using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment Able to read and follow basic drawings, plans and instructions Practical problem-solver with a proactive, get-it-done attitude Comfortable taking ownership of small jobs and coordinating workflow Physically capable of manual handling and workshop-based work Why Join PSA?
