THE JOB:

Vanee Farm Centre is looking for an individual who is a self-starter with a good work ethic. The
precision agriculture specialist will provide technical and sales support to Vanee’s employees
and customers regarding agriculture technologies. The duties and responsibilities include, but

are not limited to:

  • Provide product knowledge relative to the software and hardware on tractors, seeders,

sprayers, and combines electronic monitoring and application systems.

  • Understand proper machine settings for application conditions/crops and provide

recommendations based on analyzed information gathered direct from the relevant

machines.

  • Provide on and off-farm support for customers, as well as be a training resource to

fellow specialists and sales professionals.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues including but not limited to displays,

GPS/GLONASS, application control, auto-guidance, row-guidance, telematics, section
control, mapping, and variable rate in cab technology, precision harvesting systems and
determine if field visits are required to resolve concerns through field validation/testing

on outstanding product issues.

  • Have significant insight and understanding of the market in your area and be familiar

with the common types of precision operations as well as possible opportunities for

technological upgrades.

  • Work closely with field support teams, service managers, and sales managers/staff to

address the needs of customers and proactively propose effective solutions.

  • Call on customers and sell company’s products and services.
  • Communicate manufacturer updates to sales staff.
  • Conduct product meetings with customers and sales personnel.
  • Complete product demonstrations and equipment deliveries whenever necessary.
  • Keep current on product knowledge, features, and benefits of all products. Maintain

updated manuals and materials.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety program at all

times.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Resolve customers concerns efficiently and effectively.
  • Promote a positive attitude at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

Education/Experience: The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Diagnose faulty software and hardware.
  • Familiarity with power tools and common multi-meter.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics.
  • Technical and mechanical competency with agriculture equipment.
  • Strong aptitude in information technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preference may be given to candidates with a degree or diploma in Precision Agriculture or a
related field.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in:

  • Precision agriculture.
  • Precision Land Management (PLM) products.
  • Trimble products.
  • GPS auto-guidance.
  • Variable rate application control.
  • Sectional control systems.
  • Remote Sensing and or GIS.
  • Servicing or repairing agricultural equipment.
  • Operating agricultural machinery such as combines, tractors, and sprayers.
  • Customer service or sales.
  • Telematics.

It is required that the individual have agriculture experience and a Class 5 driver’s license. The
individual should be able to set work priorities, maintain a high degree of motivation, and work
independently in the absence of supervision and be able to understand and carryout oral and
written directions.

  • Ability to operate equipment or other power equipment as necessary.
