This position is within the Predictive Modeling (PM) chapter of Pharmaceutical Sciences, specializing in pharmacometrics, mechanistic disease modeling, and translational sciences. PM integrates advanced methods like modeling, machine learning, and statistics with diverse data sources to inform clinical decisions across all disease therapeutic areas. The team develops actionable models through clinical trial simulations, exploring various what-if scenarios. PM also fosters modeling expertise at Roche through training, support, and advocacy for modeling & simulation. The opportunity: Contribute to the development of a modern Model-Based Meta-Analysis (MBMA) pipeline, utilizing literature-derived data extracted with large language model tools. Gain hands-on experience in applying non-linear mixed-effects modeling approaches within the MBMA framework. Use the MBMA pipeline to assess the efficacy of a new molecule compared to the existing standard of care, supporting data-driven clinical decision-making. Extend and automate the MBMA pipeline for broader application across multiple clinical projects. Who you are: You are a Master's or PhD student or have completed a Master's degree within the past 12 months prior to the start date, specializing in pharmacometrics, applied mathematics, statistics and have some experience or familiarity with biological/medicine applications You have strong programming skills in R Familiarity with non-linear mixed-effects modeling and/or Bayesian hierarchical approaches, using tools such as NONMEM, Monolix, nlmixr, Stan, brms, or JAGS, is highly desirable. You possess excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. You are a team player with strong communication skills, a focused work style, and a results-driven mindset.
