Homes Built for America   We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Prep and Detail Manager to join our home construction team. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership and management responsibilities. The Prep and Detail Manager will oversee subcontractors and trades while performing critical repairs and finishing tasks to ensure homes are delivered to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities Management Duties: * Supervise and coordinate trade partners, subcontractors, and labor crews to complete all prep and detail tasks efficiently and on schedule. * Conduct pre-inspections of homes to identify and document work needed to meet quality and customer satisfaction standards. * Schedule and oversee punch list items, ensuring timely completion of all repairs and touch-ups. * Maintain clear communication with project managers, construction superintendents, and quality control teams. * Review and ensure adherence to construction plans, specifications, and company standards. Hands-On Responsibilities: * Perform minor repairs and finishing work, including drywall patching, paint touch-ups, trim adjustments, and fixture installation as needed. * Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues on-site to maintain project timelines and customer satisfaction. * Conduct thorough walkthroughs before handoff to customers to ensure all work meets or exceeds company standards. General Duties: * Monitor job site cleanliness and safety, addressing hazards promptly. * Maintain tools, materials, and equipment necessary for on-site work. * Document completed work and outstanding issues for follow-up, ensuring proper records are kept. Qualifications * 5+ years of experience in new home construction, with a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and finishing techniques. * Proven leadership or supervisory experience managing trade partners and subcontractors. * Strong technical skills in construction repairs, including drywall, painting, carpentry, and finish work. * Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. * Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications. * Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks effectively. * Excellent communication skills to coordinate with teams and address customer concerns. Physical Requirements: * Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions. * Ability to work extended hours and travel between job sites as needed.
