Looking for a dedicated, hard-working part/full-time Prep-Cook for Winnipeg’s largest meal prep service.
As our business continues to grow, we hope this position does as well. We are not looking for many years of experience as we believe hard work, dedication, and commitment mean more.
We are looking for leaders in the meal prep space that has a passion for providing the utmost standard of excellence to our customers.
Job includes being able to be a team player, manage well under in a high-paced environment and ability to work on the fly
Working with management on key changes within the company, this can lead to promotion within the company

Responsibilities for Prep Cook.

  • Prepare ingredients then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes
  • Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at work station and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
  • Set up and clean station according to health standard protocol
  • Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves
  • Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
  • Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line supervisor, sous-chef, or executive chef
  • Contribute to meal and menu designs
  • Managing Prep Charts
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Preparing all the raw ingredients for meals
  • Cooking all ingredients into meals
  • Reading customer orders and packing meals to be shipped.
  • Dishwasher
  • Working with airline catering and upholding standards set by company and auditors

Qualifications:

  • Kitchen experience an asset
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in a team setting
  • 1-2 years Kitchen or Restaurant or Catering Experience
  • Early morning start times
  • Line Cook Experience
  • Prepare, season, and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Oversee kitchen operations
  • Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
  • Must have valid drivers licence
  • Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow cooking directions
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized and self-motivated
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials

Job Type: Full-time / Part Time
Salary: Starting at $16.00/hour
Part-time hours: 25 - 35 per week
