Responsibilities

As a Prep Cook in the Arbutus Room, you set the stage for both daytime and dinner service. By preparing fresh, high-quality ingredients with care and precision, you make it possible for our culinary team to deliver refined, memorable dishes throughout the day. From keeping your station organized to ensuring ingredients are ready for service, your focus and consistency allow the kitchen to run smoothly. Your contribution plays a vital role in creating the elevated dining experiences the Arbutus Room is known for.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Prepare and portion ingredients to keep service running smoothly
  • Follow recipes and prep lists with accuracy and consistency
  • Assist on the line during service, gaining hands-on experience with plating and timing
  • Keep your station clean, organized, and fully stocked
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including proper labelling, rotation, and storage
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Build your knowledge of culinary methods through coaching and cross-training
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen culture
