Position Summary: Symphony Park, a prestigious Independent Living Resort, is looking for a diligent and dependable Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. The Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations, supporting our commitment to providing high-quality dining experiences in our resort's restaurants. This position is suited for someone who values teamwork, takes pride in their work, and is looking to be part of a dynamic and respectful food and beverage environment. Essential Job Functions: Operate dishwashing machines and ensure dishes, glassware, and silverware are cleaned and sanitized properly. Hand-wash items as needed, including pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, including sinks and countertops. Assist with kitchen maintenance tasks, such as sweeping and mopping floors, and disposing of trash and recycling. Ensure the kitchen adheres to health and safety standards, including proper storage of cleaning supplies. Support the kitchen with various tasks not specific to dishwashing responsibilities. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed. Work collaboratively with other Food and Beverage employees to ensure smooth operations. Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments. Attends training courses at community and maintains up to date monthly, quarterly, and annual training. Other duties as assigned, and which relate to the success of the community and the care, comfort, and happiness of our residents. Ingredient Preparation: Washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting fruits, vegetables, and meats. Station Setup: Setting up and sanitizing workstations with necessary equipment, such as knives and pans. Recipe Assistance: Measuring and mixing ingredients, making sauces, and preparing components of dishes. Stock Management: Rotating, labeling, and storing ingredients, and monitoring stock levels. Sanitation: Adhering to food safety guidelines, maintaining a clean workspace, and assisting with dishwashing if needed. Efficiency: Following prep lists to ensure the kitchen is ready for service hours. Experience Qualifications & Skills: Previous experience in a dishwashing role, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting. on-the-job training will be provided. Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness. Good physical condition and stamina to stand for long periods and handle heavy equipment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical Demands: Walk/Stand – must be able to continuously walk and stand Environment Condition – must be able to perform work both inside and outside Sit – sit infrequently Lift - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds Carry - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds Push - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds Climb – must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available Bend – must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips and spine on a frequent basis, may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more. Squat – must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less. Twist or rotate – must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck while, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more. Reach– must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more. Sensory Vision – must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses Hear - Must be able to hear telephone, audible alarms, bells and signals related to resident safety with or without hearing devices. Speech/Language – must have strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret administration information.
