Job Summary: As a Prep Cook at The Golden Hog, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients and supporting kitchen operations to ensure a smooth and efficient service. Your role is essential in maintaining food quality, consistency, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas. This position requires attention to detail, commitment to food safety, and the ability to work quickly and accurately in a team-oriented environment. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Wash, peel, chop, slice, and measure ingredients according to standardized recipes and daily prep lists Properly label, store, and rotate all food products to ensure freshness and minimize waste Assist line cooks and chefs with basic cooking tasks and station preparation Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, tools, and storage areas throughout the shift Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including correct food handling procedures Help set up workstations and stock them with needed supplies at the beginning of shifts Dispose of garbage, organize coolers, and perform deep cleaning tasks as assigned Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to management Assist with unpacking and storing deliveries Follow company policies, operational procedures, and safety regulations Qualifications: Previous kitchen experience preferred, especially in prep or support roles Knowledge of basic kitchen tools, measurements, and sanitation standards Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and safety protocols accurately Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed Schedule: Your standard work schedule will be 5 days per week, with 2 days off to be scheduled based on operational needs.
