Job Details Job Location: Give Kids The World - Kissimmee, FL 34746 Position Type: Part Time SUMMARY OF OVERALL PURPOSE The Prep Cook under the supervision of kitchen management performs the duties of preparation, assembly, and clean up as required in the Give Kids The World kitchens to ensure the operations run smoothly. This role prepares food offerings to exact standards indicated by the management team with a focus on guest satisfaction, food safety and sanitation, quality control, cleanliness, and productivity. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Cooking Assist in the food preparation process by performing basic duties like chopping, slicing, and assembling prepared items for cooking. Prepare, assemble, and cook basic food offerings like cookies and pizza. Restocks all kitchen supplies and food items required. Clean and sanitize food preparation workstations. Follow all health and safety requirements related to the food preparation process. Serving Assist with serving food as needed. Stock food court serving lines with clean/sanitized dishes, utensils, etc. as needed. Support Assist with receiving food products as needed. Assist with the unloading of deliveries and their proper storage. Ensure all products are rotating on a first-in, first-out philosophy. Transfer meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchens as directed. Assist with the set-up and breakdown of dining areas as directed. Communicate kitchen needs to the Food& Beverage management. Guest Service Coordinate the fulfillment of special need requests. Ensure the presentation of food items meets the requirements. All other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS OUTSIDE NORMAL WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, balance, use hands and arms for extended periods of time. Able to work in kitchen areas, with exposure to humidity, steam and extreme temperatures. Work in all weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds, unassisted. Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include rotating shifts, nights, weekends and/or extended hours of work. Qualifications SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and machinery. Knowledge of safety procedures, including safe temperatures at which ingredients must be kept and to which food must be prepared to avoid foodborne illness. Able to read and measure recipes. Knowledge of weights and measures Able to apply basic knife skills required for preparation. Basic knowledge, understanding and application of various cooking techniques. Basic knowledge of cooking utensils and equipment, pots, pans, dish ware, silverware, glassware, food slicing machine, knives, oven, grill/stove burners, microwave appliances, brazier, steam kettles Committed to quality, safety, show and service excellence for all guests. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented. Punctual and reliable. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Able to work in a team. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including battery operated golf cart, preferred. Valid driver's license and clean driving record, preferred. Must meet acceptable attendance and punctuality requirements, which are essential functions for the position. High School Diploma or greater. At least one year of experience in food services outlets. ServeSafe Training, preferred.
