Summary The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing food and menu items to meet service standards, including preparation, portioning, and plating. They support preparing a variety of food products utilizing different equipment, such as breads, pastries, meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, and stocks. Responsibilities · Support the kitchen line in maintaining sufficient prep for each menu item during daily service or events. · Prep and organize food trays to uphold quality service standards. · Execute and adhere to recipe and kitchen standards for each menu item. · Maintain adequate levels of food pars, inventory, and station-specific products, including rotation and labeling. · Perform opening and closing duties effectively for each project or assignment. · Collaborate with kitchen, event crew, and front of house teams to deliver exceptional fan experiences. · Assist Event Chef and crew members with event menu specifications and execution. · Train and demonstrate required skills for kitchen line stations to meet service expectations. · Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations. · Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area, including various equipment. · Report any food item or equipment quality issues promptly to management. · Attend scheduled team member meetings and contribute suggestions. · Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. At least 2 years of related experience and/or training in high-volume kitchen preparation and cooking. Must have a current San Diego County Food Handlers card, issued by the city of San Diego. Reliable transportation is necessary. Regularly lifting up to and including 50lbs.
