KITCHEN PREP

We are looking for two individuals that love food and appreciate working in a fun and fast-paced environment. Must be enthusiastic to learn about handling and selling quality, fresh store made dips, fresh juices, and produce in an open concept kitchen at a community based Farmers’ Market. The right individual would be a team player that values the importance of local food systems, community, and customer service.
Position 1: Kitchen Opener / General Prep
Full-time, Wednesday-Sundays
* Shifts may vary depending on the season and day of the week; 6:30 am-3:00pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, or 8:00am-4:30pm.
Position 2: General Prep / Main Juicer
Full-time, Thursday-Sundays
*
Shifts may vary from 8:00am-4:30pm to 9am-5:30pm. This position has opportunity for more hours once the season picks up in April-May.

APPLICANTS SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Time management skills, Strong organizational skills, Strong verbal communication, Basic food preparation skills, Basic cleaning and maintenance skills, Basic knife skills, Understanding of Food safe practices, Customer service oriented, Use of Commercial Kitchen Equipment and tools.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

Food Safe certification or AHS equivalent

Responsibilities

Daily food prep and production of our store made dips, salsas, salads, cut fruit, and fresh juices. Following recipes. Maintain records of daily production log. Daily use of commercial kitchen equipment in high volumes and capacities (combi, dicers, processors, freeze drier, juicers, cold press, etc.) Cutting, weighing, label, package and merchandising items produced in the kitchen, including a variety of fresh fruits and produce. Cleaning and maintaining workstations and kitchen during and post production. including dishwashing. Receiving and storing of goods, complying with proper stock rotation. Quality control. Product sampling and customer service; occasionally assist customers with inquiries, product knowledge and recommendations. Able to perform repetitive tasks, repetitive lifting (up to 50lbs/22kg).
