Description As an On-Call Prep Cook in our Banquet Kitchen, you’ll play a key role in bringing exceptional food experiences to life for conferences, weddings, galas, and other special events hosted at our hotel. You will work in a collaborative, guest-focused environment where your skills, energy, and attention to detail help create memorable moments This is an on-call position—ideal for culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting and are looking for flexible scheduling. Responsibilities: · Prepare and cook food according to Hyatt standards and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), under the guidance of the Banquet Sous Chef. · Set up assigned stations with appropriate prep, tools, and ingredients. · Support execution of plated dinners, buffets, and live action stations for banquet functions. · Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with sanitation and safety standards. · Collaborate with the banquet kitchen team to ensure food is served timely and at the correct temperature and presentation. · Follow Hyatt’s food safety procedures and ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines. · Participate in post-event breakdown, cleaning, and restocking of kitchen areas. · Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude—especially during high-volume service. Requirements · Minimum 1 year of culinary experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high-volume banquet setting. · Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and sanitation standards. · Ability to read and execute banquet event orders and prep lists. · Must be able to work flexible, on-call hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. · Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. · Valid Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Preferred Qualifications: · Prior experience in a Hyatt property or similar full-service/luxury hotel. · Culinary degree or professional kitchen training. · Familiarity with Hyatt’s purpose-driven culture and commitment to care.
