Description As a Prep Cook, you will support kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and ensuring all components are ready for service. Pelican Pete’s is a well-loved tiki-style restaurant on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, GA. At Pelican Pete’s, we’re all about having a good time. As Lake Lanier’s only floating tiki bar and restaurant, we offer a one-of-a-kind waterfront experience featuring unbeatable lake views, live music, and some of the best food and drinks on the lake. Centered around good food, good drinks, and good times, Pelican Pete’s continues to be a favorite gathering place for locals and visitors alike. RESPONSIBILITIES: Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients according to recipes and standards. Prepare basic sauces, dressings, and other components as directed. Label, date, and store food items properly to maintain freshness and prevent waste. Maintain a clean and organized prep station and assist with overall kitchen cleanliness. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. Communicate effectively with kitchen team to ensure timely preparation. REQUIREMENTS: Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide proper documentation. Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required; training provided for the right candidate. Basic knife skills and knowledge of food safety practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, and reach overhead. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
