"Fueling the Flavor Before the First Order." 🔥🔥 As a Prep Cook at Q39 BBQ, you’ll be responsible for preparing fresh ingredients and setting up the kitchen for daily service. You’ll work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen that focuses on award-winning barbecue. Attention to detail, consistency, and strong knife skills are essential. Summary Prep Cook prepares, portions, and cooks a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, breads, and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils. Duties and Responsibilities • Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, or desserts, according to or supervisors' instructions and daily prep list • Use the Standard Recipes for preparing all products; NOT relying on the memory of oneself or others. • Understand and comply with cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures. • Use manual or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods, following approved procedures. • Portion according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications; weighing and measuring ingredients. • Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage. • Take and record the temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers; following proper labeling procedures. • Clean and sanitize the workstation area including tables, shelves, prep equipment, and refrigeration equipment. • Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers. • Promptly inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly or when food and supplies are getting low. • Complete opening and closing checklists and assist others in opening and closing the kitchen. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, other employees and vendor suppliers. • A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking, high volume restaurant experience preferred. • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds and work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
Responsibilities
