The Opportunity Slows Bar BQ is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality ingredients and supporting the kitchen in delivering excellent food to our guests. This position allows you to hone your culinary skills in a fast-paced environment while being part of a respected brand known for its BBQ. Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of salads, sides, sauces, and other items according to recipes and standards. Perform basic cooking tasks such as chopping, mixing, and cooking to ensure all ingredients are ready for service. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and prep areas. Ensure all food items are stored properly and labeled in accordance with health regulations. Participate in inventory management by reporting stock needs and helping keep track of supplies. Understand and adhere to health and safety standards in the kitchen. Assist the team in ensuring that all food safety practices are followed. Support other kitchen staff during meal preparation and service as needed. Qualifications Prior experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred. Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repeated tasks. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and move heavy items as needed. Comfort working in a hot and typically busy kitchen environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. Qualifications Prior experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred.
