Yellow Dog Brewing Penticton is excited to be adding to our team!
We are looking for a dedicated, organized person who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The Prep/Line Cook is responsible for prepping ingredients and preparing our menu items to help create our vision for an awesome menu. To be successful as a Prep/Line Cook, you should be a committed, communicative team player with excellent time management skills. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and advance their skills and learn all areas of the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Culinary school an asset.
  • Prior experience in related food preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of health and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to use all equipment and techniques for all duties and responsibilities of the job.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Food safe level one.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items in ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment according to the restaurants standardized recipes.
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  • Prepares item for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
  • Ensures food and ingredients are fresh for service.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen including all surfaces, cooking and preparation equipment and refrigeration equipment.
  • Stay calm in stressful or emergent situations; help those around you feel more at ease.
  • Keep up to date and improve your skills on standard and emerging cooking and preparation techniques.
  • Special projects as directed by management.
