Our Lead Prep Cook supports the kitchen by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and helping ensure smooth, efficient service—while also overseeing the prep team. This role combines hands-on prep duties with light supervisory responsibilities, including ensuring standards are met and tasks are completed efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred
  • Comfortable in a leadership or team lead role
  • Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and prep procedures
  • Able to allocate tasks and manage priorities based on volume and product needs
  • Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Positive attitude, team-first mindset, and a willingness to take initiative

Responsibilities
  • Perform all standard prep duties (e.g. washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and basic cooking)
  • Set up and stock workstations according to restaurant guidelines
  • Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
  • Oversee daily prep list to ensure all items are completed on time
  • Allocate prep tasks to team members based on daily sales, inventory, and expiry dates
  • Ensure all prepped items meet restaurant standards for quality and freshness
  • Support and guide team members to stay on task and work efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas
  • Operate dishwashers and support dish station as needed
  • Monitor garbage removal and kitchen cleanliness throughout the shift
  • Work with the kitchen team to serve food at proper temperature and portion size
  • Ensure food safety standards and workplace safety policies are followed
  • Report hazards, injuries, or issues promptly
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the kitchen team and guest experience
