Description The preschool assistant must communicate effectively through a relational approach, encouraging students to take risks in learning and demonstrate learning in innovative ways. Assistants are instrumental in helping the classroom function. Preschool assistants report to the preschool director. All faculty members are expected to contribute to chapel and other spiritual development activities and other duties as assigned. Assistant positions may be part-time or full-time positions, depending on the needs of the preschool. Requirements Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma; an associate's degree in early childhood or a related field or a CDA is preferred Complete the training requirements established by the Florida Department of Children and Families Exhibit a strong faith and exemplary lifestyle Must have an understanding of child development and age-appropriate strategies for learning and classroom management Must be able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships Must possess the ability to accept direction and professional development Must exercise good judgment Must submit to a background check Preference will be given to applicants who are members of a congregation of the Churches of Christ. All applicants must be members of a local church and must sign and abide by the MDCA Statement of Faith to be considered.
