The Starting Place Preschool is a community of children, parents, and educators committed to working together to make a child’s first school experience a rewarding and meaningful one.
We are now hiring for an enthusiastic Education Assistant. The Education Assistant will enjoy working with children in a fun and positive learning environment under the direct supervision of the Director. This full-time (34.5 hours/week) position will be effective September 2025

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate specific centres in the classroom as directed by the Director (i.e. crafts, activities, projects, etc)
• Interact and supervise children upon arrival on the circle time mat
• Assist with the students during field trips, snack time, bathroom duties, hygiene, and preparing children for departure at the end of class
• General daily cleanup of the school
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Child Development Assistant Level 2 certificate (Level 3 preferred)
• Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, AED certification
• Criminal Record Check
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a preschool or daycare environment

Wages will be set according to the candidate’s experience and training.
