Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and nurturing individual to serve as both a Preschool Mini Bus Driver and Lead After-School Teacher. This dual-role position includes safely transporting children to and from our center and providing hands-on support across all age groups in our classrooms. Key Responsibilities Bus Driver Duties Safely operate a company vehicle to transport children to and from the center and on occasional field trips. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Ensure all passengers are properly secured and follow safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior. Communicate professionally with parents and staff regarding transportation matters. Classroom Support Duties Float between classrooms to support teachers with daily activities, transitions, and supervision. Assist with games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and other learning experiences. Help maintain a safe, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment. Provide age-appropriate care, including feeding, dressing, and diapering. Support children’s hygiene and healthy habits through modeling and instruction. Build respectful, caring relationships with children and staff. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old. Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Experience working with young children preferred. Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and age groups. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to Christian values and early childhood education. Work Environment & Physical Demands Active preschool setting with frequent interaction with children. Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, and lift up to 40 lbs. Visual acuity required for driving and classroom supervision. Requirements Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Meet HHS minimum education and experience requirements Preferred Education and Experience Prior teaching experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications Meet minimum age, education, background check and medical qualifications for caregivers established by DFPS Licensing Complete annual training required by DFPS Licensing Maintain Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certifications Transporting children, a Class C driver's license with a clear Department of Public Safety record, and two hours of transportation training annually is required.
