Responsibilities

REQUIRED SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrated experience working with young children in a licensed child care setting
  • Ability to lead the daily operations of the classroom and ensure a smooth, nurturing learning environment
  • Participate in staff meetings to share updates on children’s progress and raise concerns with the Director when necessary
  • Support and guide children in developing positive behaviors and social-emotional skills
  • Provide care as needed, including feeding, diapering, and attending to hygiene routines
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, emergent curriculum that supports physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth
  • Maintain accurate daily records, attendance logs, and incident reports, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with licensing standards
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as supply inventory, parent communication, and supporting room transitions
  • Assist with meal/snack preparation and arrange classroom spaces for meals and rest time
  • Observe and document children’s learning and behavior to inform individualized programming and planning

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom equipment; assist with general housekeeping and basic meal preparation
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of children’s records and observations
  • Attend regular staff meetings to collaborate, share insights, and seek support when needed
  • Provide mentorship and support to Level 1 and Level 2 educators as appropriate
  • Demonstrate and role model best practices in interactions with children, families, and team members
  • Foster strong, respectful, and trusting relationships with children and their families
