A Day in the Life As our Preschool Cook, you’ll be the hero behind the scenes—planning and preparing nutritious, tasty meals and snacks that kids love. You’ll keep the kitchen spotless, follow CACFP guidelines, and make sure every child gets food that’s safe, appealing, and age-appropriate. From infants to toddlers to school-aged students, you’ll help fuel their growth and learning every day. What You’ll Do Plan and prepare meals that meet CACFP standards Keep the kitchen clean and organized Modify menus for allergies and special needs Maintain food safety and sanitation standards Track inventory and control costs Collaborate with teachers on fun food activities What We’re Looking For Valid Texas Food Safety Manager Certification (5-year Certification) Experience in food preparation (childcare or similar setting preferred) Ability to follow nutrition guidelines and maintain records A heart for serving children and families Schedule & Pay Full-time position, Monday–Friday. Pay range: $14.00–$16.00/hour. Requirements Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Meet HHS minimum education and experience requirements Valid Texas Food Safety Manager Certification (5-year)
Responsibilities
As a Preschool Cook, you will plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children while ensuring the kitchen is clean and organized. You will also modify menus for allergies and collaborate with teachers on fun food activities.
