Facilities Maintenance Technician – Preschool Sites (Oʻahu) Full-Time | Monday–Friday (Daytime Hours) $20–$30/hour DOE | $500 Hiring Bonus Kamaʻāina Kids is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of our preschool campuses throughout Oʻahu. This position is perfect for a dependable, solutions-oriented professional who enjoys hands-on work and understands the importance of maintaining spaces where young children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. In this role, you’ll travel between multiple school locations, addressing a variety of general maintenance needs—from minor repairs and preventative maintenance to playground and classroom improvements. Your work will play a key part in keeping our campuses safe, functional, and welcoming for the children, families, and staff we serve every day. About the Role This is a generalist maintenance position, not a single-trade role. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable jumping between tasks, working independently, and solving problems efficiently in active school environments. You’ll be trusted to assess issues, make safe repairs, and keep things running smoothly—often before small problems become big ones. What You’ll Be Doing Assemble and repair classroom furniture, shelving, and storage units Fix doors, cabinets, drawers, and classroom fixtures Perform basic plumbing repairs, including sink and toilet clogs Replace light fixtures, bulbs, and ceiling tiles Handle patch painting, light drywall repair, and general upkeep Inspect and maintain playground and outdoor equipment Travel between preschool sites using a company vehicle Help ensure all facilities meet safety and cleanliness standards This Role Is a Good Fit If You Have: Solid, hands-on experience in general maintenance or facilities work Working knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively Strong communication skills and a dependable work ethic Comfort working in environments with children and understanding of safety expectations A clean driving abstract and reliable transportation Experience in schools, childcare centers, property management, or similar settings is a strong plus.
