We’re looking for a passionate, energetic, and creative Music & Movement Instructor to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with young children (and their caregivers) and can bring joy, rhythm, and purposeful movement into their learning experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Preschool Music & Movement Instructor will develop and deliver age-appropriate, milestone-focused classes for children ages 4–10 months, 10–18 months, 16–24 months, and 2–4 years old. Lessons will integrate music, movement, and playful activities to encourage gross motor development, coordination, social skills, and caregiver bonding.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with young children (infant to preschool) in a group or educational setting.
• Background in early childhood education, music, dance, movement, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate milestones.
• Strong musicality (singing ability essential; ability to play basic rhythm instruments a plus).
• High energy, creativity, and enthusiasm for engaging with children and caregivers.
• Ability to adapt lesson plans on the spot to match the mood and needs of the class.
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must be able to lift and move classroom equipment as needed.
  Job Types: Part-time, Casual
  Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
  Expected hours: 4 – 30 per week

• Plan & Prepare
• Create weekly lesson plans that are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with key physical, social, and cognitive milestones for each age group.
• Incorporate a variety of activities such as singing, rhythm instruments, dance, guided movement, and interactive games.
• Prepare and organize materials needed for each class.
• Lead & Engage
• Teach fun, high-energy classes for up to 10 children (with caregivers present for younger age groups).
• Use clear, friendly communication to guide both children and caregivers through activities.
• Adapt activities to accommodate varying developmental stages and abilities.
• Create a Positive Environment
• Foster a warm, inclusive, and safe atmosphere where children feel encouraged to explore and participate.
• Promote caregiver-child bonding through interactive songs and activities.
• Maintain classroom control while keeping sessions light, fun, and engaging.
• Program Support & Safety
• Monitor and ensure children’s safety at all times, following Kidnasium’s safety policies and procedures.
• Set up and tidy up the classroom before and after each session.
• Provide feedback to the Program Director on class participation, successes, and potential improvements.
