REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications
  • Must be 24 years or older.
  • BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
  • Site Supervisor Permit from California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Completed health screening, immunizations, and TB test clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CCTC Program Director Permit or eligible.
  • Training in NAEYC standards, PITC, Anti-Bias Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum, or Reggio Emilia practices.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other languages is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY

The YMCA Preschool Site Coordinator works closely with the Child Development Director to maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 0-6. This role ensures the successful delivery of programs and services in line with YMCA Preschool goals, while maintaining compliance with State of California Community Care Licensing requirements. The Site Coordinator will assume the responsibilities of the Department Head in the absence of the Sr. Program Director, collaborating with parents and staff to develop programs and activities. The role includes overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting staff, and stepping into classroom duties as needed.

SALARY DESCRIPTION

The hourly rate for this position is $38.00-$41.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and alignment with salary benchmarks for similar roles. Compensation is in accordance with grant funding approval and program budget requirements.
