Willow Park Preschool is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join the Willow Park family. We are a well-established parent run co-operative preschool that has been in operation since 1981 and offers a quality and affordable play-based program in a wonderful space that has gym and outdoor access. The preschool is hiring for the new school year in September of 2025.
Key Areas
-Work with children; complete individual and group activities, foster play among students
-Liaise with assistant, parents, licensing, other teachers and board.
-Develop and implement curriculum
Hours of Work:
5-8 classes per week depending on enrolment
Hourly pay rate based on experience and qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Planning and execution of the curriculum by providing safe, creative and appropriate educational opportunities for all children within an inclusive environment, preparing activities, organizing programs and arranging equipment
2. Liaising with other teachers and parents to ensure individual needs are met, and to be responsible for observations and record keeping relating to the progress and development of key children if necessary
3. To encourage parental involvement and support through the development of effective working relationships
4. To ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory responsibilities, school policies, licensing requirements, and laws.
5. To follow all preschool and whole-school policies, including those regarding safeguarding and confidentiality
6. To ensure that the preschool offers the highest standards of physical and emotional care, health and safety, and personal and food hygiene at all times.
7. Ensuring all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
8. Working with range of people including preschool parent board, other staff, visiting professionals and agencies, parents, visitors and student placements
9. Work requires bending, kneeling and crouching for periods of time and may also involve lifting or holding children during planned activities, and assisting with toileting duties.
10. Significant elements of inside and outside work, including leading outdoor learning.
11. Promoting positive values, attitudes and behavior, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encouraging children to take responsibility for their own behaviour
12. Having a positive approach to continuous professional development
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-Early Childhood Education Diploma/ Child Development Supervisor Certified OR Bachelor of Education Degree
-First Aid Certificate (current)
-Police check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and References Required
-Relevant 1-5 years’ experience working with children and/ or in school environment
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Contract length: 10 months
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
