Preschool Teacher – Multiple Locations in Newark Clinton Hill Community & Early Childhood Center, Inc. is seeking passionate Preschool Teachers to lead engaging classrooms at our early childhood centers located throughout the City of Newark. Teachers implement high-quality instruction aligned with the NJ Preschool Teaching & Learning Standards and the Newark Board of Education curriculum while supporting children’s social, emotional, and academic development. Summary The Preschool Teacher is responsible for leading a high-quality preschool classroom and implementing developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the NJ Preschool Teaching & Learning Standards and Newark Board of Education program requirements. Teachers create safe, engaging learning environments that support children’s social, emotional, and academic growth while building strong partnerships with families. Clinton Hill Community & Early Childhood Center, Inc. operates multiple preschool locations throughout the City of Newark. Teachers hired for this position will be placed at one of our Newark sites based on program needs and candidate preference when possible. Preschool Teachers implement curriculum with fidelity, observe and document children’s development, analyze assessment data, and collaborate with instructional coaches, family services staff, and program leadership to support continuous improvement in teaching and learning. All work must align with the organization’s core values of I CARE — Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence, and comply with the policies and regulatory requirements established by Clinton Hill Community & Early Childhood Center, Inc., the Newark Board of Education, and applicable state and federal guidelines. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (Early Childhood Education or related field preferred). Valid New Jersey Preschool – Grade 3 Certification, or one of the following eligible credentials: Certificate of Eligibility (CE) Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) Limited CE Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience with preschool-aged children preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to observe, document, and assess children’s development using data to inform instruction. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with children, families, teaching assistants, and program leadership. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional early childhood education team.
