YOU MUST HAVE 12 UNITS in Early Childhood Development and a few years experience as a LEAD TEACHER in a classroom. College Degree in Early Childhood a PLUS!
This position requires the ability to creatively plan, implement, and oversee a classroom with 12 kids max and a floater to assist you. Must be creative, patient, dedicated and overall LOVE to teach children. Must have strong knowledge of teaching in a preschool setting with children ages 2-5 and have strong classroom management skills.
We are a mom & pop school with only 12 kids per classroom with 4 classrooms in Old Agoura on a beautiful campus. The children are well behaved and parents are super supportive and communicative. We have an amazing school and are looking for a great addition to our team, this is no daycare. This is a privately owned school with 50 families maximum keeping our community small and super sweet.
Our philosophy is a beautiful balance of Early Childhood Development using a wide range of modalities/philosophies and materials (play, music, art, open ended learning, etc) coupled with teaching colors, shapes, letters, themes, holidays, etc. There is an outline of curriculum that is in place which will help for you to lesson plan and implement activities daily, but we want you to add all those fun experiences in your classroom. Knowing Learning Without Tears is a plus as we use this curriculum in all classrooms but not required as we will support you. You get to think of and create exciting activities, crafts, art projects, open ended activities, science, music activities and more on your own but in conjunction with our curriculum. We are looking for a very PATIENT, PASSIONATE & CREATIVE teacher to lead class with a detail oriented curriculum. Must be able to create exciting activities and projects on a daily basis. This is not a daycare classroom so creativity and enthusiasm is a must! If you love to teach, you will love our school.
We are a very close team of all women on campus and we are looking for a great team member to join our staff and school family. We are hiring for another team member who is great at following company policies, has a strong work ethic, kind to children, loves to teach and is overall a really great person to work alongside with.
This position is roughly from 8:15-2:15 M-F, with possible closing shifts as needed.
You must have at least 12 units in ECE, 1-2 years of experience in the classroom as a LEAD TEACHER, fingerprinted and cleared with the DOJ and forms required from State Licensing in your file prior to assuming position. There are no health benefits at this time. Paid Time off is available during all school closures (equivalent to 1 month paid) after a 3 month hire period and your employment in excellent standing. There are also bonuses and “gifts of gratitude.” We are a year round school (closed for most holidays) and the summer months are mandatory to work for the consistency of the students, parents and school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare or educational setting
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
• Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans that promote learning through play
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred) and or ongoing schooling to work with preschool aged children.
