OVERVIEW (MUST HAVE RECE)

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Preschool Teachers (and supply teachers) to join our educational team at our Streetsville campus. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role requires creativity, patience, and the ability to engage children in learning through play and structured programming.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A degree in Early Childhood Education (RECE).
  • Experience working with children in a preschool or educational setting is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and maintain an orderly environment.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and respect from students and colleagues alike.
  • Ability to write clear lesson plans and documentation of student progress.
  • Familiarity with special education practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency in French is desirable but not mandatory; however, it can enhance communication with bilingual families.
  • A genuine passion for educating young children and contributing positively to their early development.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Candidates must have:

  • RECE current “in good standing” qualifications;
  • Infant Child First Aid/CPR Level C and Epi-Pen Training;
  • Completed Vulnerable Sector paperwork.

Candidates must have experience:

  • caring for toddler to preschool age children;
  • receiving/discharging students;
  • communicating with parents in a productive, meaningful and professional manner;
  • program planning as a team member;
  • working within a small school community with professional grace;
  • supervising rest periods and outdoor play time;
  • writing and editing report cards with team members;
  • writing incident and accident reports;
  • following preschool policies and procedures

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Educate children on various subjects through interactive activities, storytelling, and hands-on experiences.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively while encouraging positive interactions among students.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to support children’s learning and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s growth.
  • Incorporate special education strategies as needed to support diverse learning needs within the classroom.
