EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Gateway Creditals Level 5 (preferred) – Level 4 (acceptable) MUST be in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum of 1 year or more experience working with children in a childcare facility
  • 3 professional reference letters
  • Updated TB test within 1 year
  • CPR/First Aid certification Card (not required but a plus)
  • Updated COVID-19 Vaccination Card (not required but a plus)
  • Strong skills in classroom management and relationship building with children and families
  • Experienced and passionate about working with children
  • Great programming skill – in line with the children’s interests
  • Interact while expressing genuine warmth and concern for children as well as an understanding of their developmental needs.
  • Respect for children’s ideas, feelings, abilities, and differences insights into and tolerance for the range of age-appropriate behavior
  • Ability to assume needed duties and responsibilities without supervision
  • Ability to use discretion in communications with parents in the Teacher’s absence
  • Ability to move and react quickly and to handle emergencies effectively.
  • Ability to abide by all rules and regulations applicable to workers of the center
  • Ability to accept changes in schedules, environment, etc.
  • Acquire knowledge of the current curriculum and implement the curriculum practices in the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities through learning centers which include art, music, physical activities, language and literacy, sensory, and self-help according to NAEYC Accreditation Standards
  • Implementing curriculum plans according to NAEYC Accreditation Standards
  • Setting up and maintaining a physical environment to promote the growth and development of physical, cognitive, language, creative, and social/emotional skills
  • Observing, recording, and assessing children’s developmental levels and progress in all areas of development
  • Communicating with parents concerning the needs, progress, and behavior of children
  • Caring for the needs of children in personal hygiene areas including feeding, diapering/toileting, dressing, lifting, and carrying children
  • Providing leadership in a learning environment
  • Providing and maintaining safe and sanitary facilities and environment
  • Maintaining attendance and meal records by Licensing and USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program Standards
