Job Title: Teacher’s Aide Job Overview: The Teacher's Aide supports the lead teacher in delivering a positive and productive learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting with lesson preparation, classroom management, and individualized student support to foster a nurturing educational experience focusing on safety and supervision. Individuals who enjoy working with young children, demonstrate patience, and maintain reliable attendance will thrive in this role. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain NAEYC Accreditation Standards and practices. * Comply with DHS Child Care Licensing Hawaii Administrative Rules. * Work with individuals or small groups of children as directed by the lead teacher. * Assist the teacher in planning and implementing educational activities, lessons, and materials. * Assist in assessing and documenting student progress and behavior. * Assist with mealtime preparations and nap-time support. * Monitor student behavior and enforce school policies to promote a safe and respectful learning environment. * Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to support learning objectives. * Help maintain classroom organization and cleanliness such as cleaning, sanitizing, toileting, and diapering, plus managing supplies and resources. * Conduct yourself in an appropriate manner when dealing with children, other staff or parents, or during school activities on or off campus. * Be sensitive and responsive to children's needs. * Use positive modeling and behavior management. * Follow school policies and procedures (maintain confidentiality). * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Must be at least 16 years of age and have some experience working with young children. * Must meet state licensing requirements (Medical, TB, and criminal history clearance). * Able to lift up to 35 lbs. * CPR/First Aid certification.
