Position: Clinical Prescription Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Nursing

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant, Licensed Nursing Assistant, or other medical credential required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare practice or hospital setting preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills under time constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems, medical terminology, and inventory management.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections.
  • Commitment to accuracy, reliability, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Learn the Prescription Protocol and manage prescription lines for both offices.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed; call or fax prescriptions into pharmacies.
  • Review PDMP for controlled medication prescriptions and patient compliance.
  • Complete prior authorizations and maintain accurate electronic patient records.
  • Provide administrative assistance to Medical Assistants and other clinical staff.
  • Greet patients over the phone and verify information through patient interviews.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, pharmacies, caregivers, and guardians.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Document patient information, treatment, and lab results accurately.
  • Participate in training and education to expand job knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinical operations.
