REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical,Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in oil & gas, shipbuilding, or offshore construction projects, with at least 3 years in a preservation-focused role.
  • Strong knowledge of preservation methods for rotating equipment, instrumentation, valves, electrical components, and structural materials.
  • Familiar with OEM preservation requirements and industry standards (e.g., API, ASTM, ISO).
  • Experience using computerized maintenance and preservation systems (e.g., CMS, WinPCS, ICAPS, or similar).
  • Proven track record of leading preservation programs on large-scale offshore or marine construction projects (FPSO, FPU, FLNG, etc.).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and follow-up discipline.
  • Good communication and team coordination abilities.
  • High safety awareness and ability to enforce site HSE standards.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Offshore Survival (BOSIET / HUET) – if offshore scope is included
  • Confined Space & Hot Work Awareness
  • Equipment Preservation OEM Training – advantageousH2S, Working at Height, and related safety certifications

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a preservation strategy for all tagged equipment and systems on the FPU, aligned with OEM recommendations and project preservation procedures.
  • Define preservation requirements during construction, pre-commissioning,commissioning, and up to handover to operations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, vendors, and QA/QC teams to ensure preservation requirements are clearly understood and followed.
  • Maintain and manage a preservation database or tracking system (CMS, WinPCS, etc.) to monitor all preservation activities and intervals.
  • Ensure preservation records and check sheets are completed, signed off, and properly documented.
  • Organize and supervise the execution of preservation tasks, including flushing, dry air purging, greasing, sealing, humidity control, protective coatings, and packaging.
  • Ensure all preservation activities are conducted safely and in compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Manage a preservation team or preservation contractor, including assigning tasks,verifying performance, and managing workload.
  • Coordinate with vendors for preservation of critical equipment and ensure warrantyconditions are maintained.
  • Plan and execute re-preservation activities for equipment and systems that remain in storage or idle for extended periods.
  • Conduct routine preservation inspections and audits to verify effectiveness and compliance.
  • Support punch list clearance and ensure preserved systems are ready for commissioning and start-up without delays due to degradation or damage.
