Position Summary The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the organization’s chief strategist, culture leader, and external ambassador. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for overall organizational leadership, strategic direction, financial sustainability, and mission impact. The CEO leads a diverse team of staff and partners while advancing equity, accountability, and collaboration across all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Vision Lead the development and execution of the organization’s strategic plan Translate mission and values into measurable outcomes Anticipate and respond to trends impacting homelessness, housing, and Veteran services Board Relations & Governance Partner closely with the Board of Directors to support effective governance Provide timely, transparent information to support Board decision-making Support Board development and engagement Operational & Financial Oversight Ensure operational excellence across programs and departments Oversee financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal controls Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and funding requirements People & Culture Leadership Foster a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture Lead, mentor, and support the senior leadership team Champion equity, inclusion, and belonging in leadership and operations External Relations & Fund Development Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the organization Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, policymakers, and community partners Support and participate in fundraising and resource development efforts Systems Change & Advocacy Advance strategies that address root causes of Veteran homelessness Engage in policy and systems-level advocacy aligned with the organization’s mission Collaborate with public and private partners to scale impact Compensation & Benefits Salary range of $250,000 to $350,000 commensurate with experience and aligned with the organization’s compensation philosophy. Requirements Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated senior leadership experience in a nonprofit, public, or mission-driven organization – 10 years Experience leading complex organizations with multiple funding streams - $10 mil Strong financial acumen and experience overseeing budgets, balance sheets Proven ability to build and lead effective leadership teams, C Suite reports Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors – 5 years Military experience or experience working in direct Veteran services– 5-7 years Knowledge of housing, homelessness, Veteran services, or related services Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed leadership Leadership Competencies Mission-driven and values-aligned Strategic and systems-oriented thinker Authentic, transparent, and empathetic leader
