WE’RE LOOKING FOR A PRESS ASSISTANT TO JOIN THE PARAGON NOTTINGHAM PRODUCTION TEAM.

As the Press Assistant / Sheetfed Assistant / Litho No.2 Operator, you’ll support the No.1 Printer in operating the press, ensuring quality output, optimum running speeds, and smooth handovers between shifts. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, completing required documentation, and helping the team meet performance targets.

Hours: 3-shift rotation, 37.5 hours per week plus 36 hours on nights:

  • Monday to Friday: 06:00 – 13:30 (7.5 hrs)
  • Monday to Friday: 13:30 – 21:00 (7.5 hrs)
  • Monday to Thursday: 21:00 – 06:00 (9 hrs)

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1 year of experience working as part of a team on a sheetfed press.
  • Understanding of the sheetfed print process and related documentation.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in print environments.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible, safety-conscious, and results-focused.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the No.1 Printer with the operation of the press.
  • Review and fully understand work tickets before starting jobs.
  • Complete all required ISO 9001 documentation and follow procedural requirements.
  • Help maintain product quality and optimum machine running speeds.
  • Communicate relevant job information to the next shift.
  • Keep the machine area clean, tidy, and organised.
  • Report any breakdowns or abnormalities immediately.
  • Follow all health, safety, environmental, and PPE requirements.
  • Leave machinery in a safe condition at the end of each shift.
  • Attend and complete all required training.
  • Comply with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and associated policies.
  • Undertake any other duties as required.
