Position Summary The Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining press machinery to produce high-quality parts and products according to specifications. This position ensures production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. Responsibilities Set up and operate mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or stamping press equipment. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production specifications. Load raw materials and remove finished products from the press. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards. Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Identify and report machine malfunctions or safety concerns. Maintain accurate production and quality records Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and quality control staff. Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing or press operation experience preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to use measuring instruments and quality inspection tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation in English required. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours) Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.) Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection Work Environment Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate to loud noise. May be exposed to hot or cold environments depending on season. Work schedule may include overtime or weekend shifts as needed.
