This role will assist the Press Operators in setting up and operating the printing press to produce pressure-sensitive labels and related products on paper, plastic, foil, and film materials. Responsibilities: * Follows guidance and direction from the Press Operator. * Reads job order and loads dies into press, installs print cylinder on shaft, and installs print cylinder in press. * Cleans plates, print cylinders, and dies as needed. * Removes trash as needed. * Mount press plates. * Ink station clean up. * Stage upcoming jobs and prepare the press carts. * Assists in the performance of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required. * Supervisor must approve all maintenance. * Mixes inks to produce and maintain desired colors and viscosity. * Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards. * Learn how to assist the Press Operators in the daily operations at the press. Qualifications: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * One year of experience in a manufacturing environment, printing or packaging industry experience strongly preferred. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devices. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk * The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
