Job Description Job Title: Pressure Testing Engineer - Quality Control Job Type: Permanent Location: Consett Join our team at SGS Consett as a Pressure Testing Engineer, where you’ll play a hands‑on role in delivering high‑quality pressure testing services across a variety of components and systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our testing capabilities while ensuring we continue to meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and accreditation. In this role, you will carry out day‑to‑day pressure testing activities, including high‑pressure proof, burst, pneumatic, and hydraulic testing. You’ll work closely with customers to deliver technical solutions, support quality assurance requirements, and uphold laboratory safety standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct high‑pressure proof and burst pressure testing on components. Carry out pneumatic and hydraulic pressure tests in line with procedures and customer requirements. Provide technical guidance, prepare quotations, and develop detailed test procedures. Support the growth and development of pressure testing services at Consett, including on‑site customer work when required. Qualifications Essential An understanding of hydraulic systems Hands on Engineering Experience Full Driving Licence for use in the UK Desirable Degree qualification in a science or engineering discipline Additional Information At SGS, we believe in rewarding our employees for their hard work and commitment.
