Position Summary: The Prevailing Wage Specialist is responsible for ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws across all applicable projects. This role supports project teams, payroll, and leadership by administering wage determinations, certified payroll reporting, fringe benefit compliance, and audit readiness. The Specialist serves as a subject-matter expert on Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), state prevailing wage requirements, and agency-specific labor compliance obligations. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for Prevailing Wage compliance Interpret and apply federal, state and local PW law, including Davis-Bacon and other related acts Review wage determinations to ensure correct classifications, wage rates and fringe benefits Prepare, review and submit certified payroll reports accurately and timely to appropriate agencies Identify discrepancies, underpayments, or misclassifications and coordinate corrective actions Coordinate with payroll and divisions to resolve discrepancies Serve as point of contact for employee wage inquiries related to prevailing wage projects Provide training and guidance to internal teams on prevailing wage requirements and best practices Maintain proper documentation for supporting wages, fringe and classifications Track and reconcile fringe benefit payments Support audits related to prevailing wage compliance Maintain organize and audit-ready compliance files Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies and contracting authorities Develop process improvements for internal compliance Stay current on changes to prevailing wage laws and regulations Additional duties as assigned Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or GED. Required: Ability to work in fast-paced, team environment Required: 5+ years experience working with prevailing wage compliance, certified payroll or government-funded projects Strong working knowledge of Davis-Bacon and state prevailing wage laws Required: Strong attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field Preferred: Well versed in construction contracts, including AIA documents Preferred: Experience with payroll systems and Excel similar programs Preferred: Familiarity with Paylocity, Elations, or similar certified payroll systems Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Physical Demands: Must be able to sit at a desk and/or computer for prolonged periods of time Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs Benefits and Compensation: We provide a comprehensive package of employee benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D; additional voluntary benefits such as STD, LTD, Critical Illness, Accident Insurance, paid vacation, and holidays; 401(k) and company paid Life Insurance, and we are 100% Employee Owned.
