Description Preventative & General Maintenance This position is primarily responsible for effectively completing the preventive maintenance program at VMRC in a safe and efficient manner. This position is also responsible for providing cable plant support across the VMRC campus. Schedule: 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Tuesday - Saturday (start time may be flexible, based upon selected candidate's preference and supervisor's approval) On-call rotation for evenings/weekends (typical rotation is 1 week out of every 7-8 weeks) 80 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks) Eligible for benefits at date of hire The rate of pay for Preventative & General Maintenance is $16.25 - $20.87 per hour. Requirements Three years' experience in the maintenance field is preferred. Must have a current Driver's License with acceptable DMV driving record to obtain authorization on VMRC's Approved Drivers List. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments in the English language. Ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision; self-motivated. Ability to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes. Pleasant personality, enjoy working with people, and ability to deal tactfully with others. Strong work ethic; fast learner; ability to work quickly and carefully in a safe manner, and motivate others to do the same. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift, carry or handle light weight (1-25 lbs.) materials or equipment frequently. Must be able to safely operate all power equipment throughout the VMRC campus. Must report to work in uniform.
