Description The Hotel Preventative Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the hotel property. This role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are well maintained and in excellent working condition. The Maintenance Engineer supports exceptional guest experiences by responding promptly to maintenance requests and performing preventative maintenance. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical spaces Respond promptly and professionally to guest service requests Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules Repair drywall, paint, flooring, doors, locks, and basic carpentry items Ensure compliance with safety regulations and brand standards Conduct regular property inspections and document findings Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory Assist with renovations and special projects as assigned Support emergency response procedures (fire alarms, water leaks, power outages, etc.) Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Technical or trade certification preferred 2+ years of maintenance experience (hotel or commercial property preferred) Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints Strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work night, weekends and holidays
