Description Seasonal Preventative Maintenance Technician Starting Pay: $18.90 an Hour Term: Seasonal- Not to Exceed 9 Months Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Position Overview The Housing Authority of Paducah is seeking a dependable and motivated Seasonal Preventative Maintenance Technician to support our preventative maintenance program and keep public housing units safe, functional, and inspection-ready. This role focuses on inspections, routine maintenance, minor repairs, and digital documentation in support of HUD NSPIRE and Housing Quality Standards (HQS). Requirements Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (HVAC filters, smoke/CO alarms, safety checks) Complete minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance repairs Conduct unit and common-area walkthroughs to identify NSPIRE/HQS deficiencies Use mobile devices to document repairs, upload photos, and close work orders Record utility meter readings and report unusual usage Assist with Ready-to-Rent units, unit turnovers, and seasonal projects Safely operate tools, equipment, and agency vehicles Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED At least one (1) year of maintenance or related experience Valid driver’s license Ability to use smartphones or tablets for work documentation Ability to pass background check and drug screening Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather Standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces Equal Opportunity Employer The Housing Authority of Paducah is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under federal, state, or local law.
