PREVENTION EDUCATION SPECIALIST - FULL TIME

As our Prevention Education Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, developing, managing and facilitating Too Good for Drugs prevention education program. It is a multi-session program delivered throughout Wake County middle/high schools. The program delivers primary prevention education to community agencies using the strategies of community engagement and community mobilization. The Specialist will manage all data, reporting, and activity tracking for grant compliance.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Public Health, Counseling, or related field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bilingual preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to make independent judgment and decisions
  • Microsoft Office (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…)
  • Classroom management skills
  • Innovative presentation and public speaking skills

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement school-based curriculum, training presentations, and attend community meetings
  • Maintain accurate statistics and monthly reports
  • Design, develop and maintain all primary prevention and community education marketing
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to primary prevention, community organizing, and community planning
  • Build, cultivate, and maintain relationships with Wake County schools and other agencies to assure ongoing program improvement, participation, and evaluation
  • Act consistently with agency’s mission and values help promote the same throughout the agency
  • Attend all staff meetings and supervisions and provide detail updates regarding prevention program and strategies
  • Educate families on additional adolescent services and programs within the agency
