Description
The Vander Weele Group is currently seeking a Bilingual Prevention Initiative (PI) Assessor with experience in Early Childhood program rules, compliance, and assessment tools. The Prevention Initiative program, administered by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), offers child development and family support services to help prepare children for future academic success. As a PI Assessor, you will conduct reviews of programmatic compliance, collect grantee data, and coordinate with grantees to ensure program goals are achieved in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices. We would love to speak with individuals who have supervisory experience and are familiar with some of the following tools: Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS), Home Visit Rating Scales (HOVRS), Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS), and Prevention Initiative Compliance Checklist (PICC). Training on these tools will be continuous to ensure fidelity, accuracy, and reliability. This position mandates meticulous attention to detail, precision, and accuracy in written work.
Candidates must be based in Illinois, as this position requires approximately 25% travel throughout the state.
At the Vander Weele Group, we are passionate about improving federal and state grant programs and the agencies that manage them. Our goal is to make grants oversight and monitoring more effective, thereby empowering organizations to better serve grantees and the public.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct virtual preparation meetings with grantees, describing the monitoring process, documentation requirements, instructions, and answering questions.
Collect program data and evaluate grantee compliance with state-specific requirements.
Evaluate data, documents, and program information to assess grantees' compliance with ISBE policies, procedures, and best practices.
Interpret the administrative code and apply it to multiple document reviews.
Conduct observational assessments using the ITERS, FCCERS, and HOVERS tools to measure program quality.
Prepare reports from completed compliance and quality reviews, maintaining accuracy and adhering to high-quality writing standards.
Respond to Grantee inquiries regarding the monitoring process.
Assist and/or participate in training, meetings, and professional development seminars.
Engage in process development, improvement, and innovation.
