This vision and the strategic goals outlined in ‘Our Strategy’ are what drives the people, professionalism and pride with which we serve our communities.
An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen to join the Prevention Team as a Support Assistant.
The Prevention Support Assistant role is integral in assisting the Leadership Team with prioritising, planning, allocating and delivering work aligned to ‘Our Strategy’ and the Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP).
This busy and varied role requires close working with the Prevention Team, including its leaders, Operations, internal and external stakeholders/partners, so we are seeking applications from an individual who has a track record in developing and maintaining strong professional relationships.
Key to success will be your organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to support Prevention project managers in managing and delivering project outcomes within agreed timescales.
You will be providing coordination for the Prevention performance management processes and meetings, supporting the Leadership Team to ensure that actions and tasks that result are recorded and delivered on time.
Responsibilities
supporting the maintenance of projects and the Prevention work plan
seeking updates on behalf of project managers from stakeholders across Prevention and internal departments and recording progress in the Prevention projects
liaising with stakeholders delivering workstreams and tasks within projects and updating the projects accordingly
support the identification, recording and updating of risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and opportunities for partnership, prevention activities and education programmes
ensure prevention activity risk assessments are regularly updated by appropriate team members so they remain up to date and available to the workforce
collating, analysing, interpreting, and producing clear and accurate information to support project delivery processes
ensuring the application of safeguarding policy, procedure and practice in line with the responsibilities within the role
Experience and skills
Essential skills or experience
understanding of partnerships, prevention activities and education programmes
knowledge of local government and public sector governance and policy making structures
effective communication skills demonstrated in specific situations and contexts
able to plan and prioritise own workload and that of others
ability to analyse and interpret complex data and develop policies.
experience of providing critical analysis and making recommendations.
confident writing ability, and presenting briefing notes and reports
capable of developing strategy and plans
comfortable working individually but competent at adapting to team working when required
self-motivated, persistent and can persuade and influence others to adopt new initiatives.
highly developed interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable skills or experience
some knowledge and understanding of relevant national strategies, legislation and initiatives associated with the role
Benefits
We offer a friendly working environment and benefits including:

In addition, employees have access to:
24/7 Employee Assistance Programme

Successful candidates will be subject to necessary pre-employment checks, including - where applicable - relevant level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, qualifications, medical clearance, identity and right to work. All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references.
