About the Role: This position provides initial psychological first aid and psychoeducation to Junior Medical Officers (JMOs) experiencing distress, with referral to appropriate community-based or external supports for ongoing care. The aim of this position is to improve the wellbeing of the JMOs cohort employed by Canberra Health Services and working within Canberra Health Services. More specifically, the aim is to provide group and individual based support, education and training to the JMOs employed by Canberra Health Services in the areas of wellbeing, self-care, psychosocial safety, psychological immunisation, and management of personal distress and the effects of vicarious trauma. The Psychologist will also provide team and individual based debriefing/support to JMOs following critical/traumatic incidents under guidance and supervision with referral of individuals for ongoing care (from another health care provider) as required.
